Technology & Healthcare: a win-win for all.
It is an undeniable fact that Americans are leading increasingly busy lives.
The inevitable outcome of this is less time for care. Less time for personal care, family care,
health care, etc. - all of which are related to the overall health and well-being of an individual.
With the immediate and pressing demands of work and financial obligations, items such as
health care and well-being get put on the back burner - until a crisis occurs. The cycle
perpetuates until unfortunate or undesirable circumstances for the individual that inadvertently
neglected their health, as well as for the individual's healthcare provider, occur.
The resulting effect is a further strain on the nation's healthcare system and healthcare
providers, which results in less time and resources for effective and efficient care.
The healthcare system today runs mostly on ‘patchwork’ solutions, which are applied as needed
to to keep it up and running. Yet, there remains no visible end to the vicious cycle that strains
and degrades the state of health care in the US.
Not until recent times… has technology reached a point where it can fundamentally alter the
healthcare system.
A complete overhauling of the current healthcare system is definitely due, not in time, but
immediately. The government has made an attempt at this, but are they doing it right?
In an environment where change is needed, the best solutions are often the most disruptive.
It is clear that the current system of Healthcare is not ideal, therefore it must be disrupted. What
better way to do this than with the technology available to use today?
The cycle of non-productivity is thus disrupted and consumers of the healthcare system are
placed in the driver seat of their own health, their well-being and their lives - as they
undoubtedly should be.
The solution chosen must become a win-win for all, doctors, patients, and the healthcare industry.
As less strain and dependence is placed on healthcare providers, more time and resources may
be allotted for efficient care, research, and the improvement of processes in the delivery of healthcare.
Patients want health care where the barriers of time, space, and access are altered to meet the
needs of their assiduous lives; while doctors need the means to deliver services comfortably
and competently.
At liveClinic, we believe that empowering doctors and patients through technology, will enable
and encourage individuals to take ownership of their healthcare. Our belief is that this will lead
to a long-term win-win situation for all.
